About the project
The Department of Physical & Environmental Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough is taking applications for its PhD in Environmental Science for the 2027-2028 academic year. Applications opened on 1 October 2026, and international Applicants must finish by 15 January 2027. The department says every admitted PhD student gets a minimum annual funding package for up to five years, as long as they make good progress. The 2025-26 minimum was CA$40, 000 a year, and tuition and incidental fees come out of that amount. The package mixes fellowships, teaching assistantships and research stipends, and the base includes 130 TA hours. Applicants must find a supervisor first who has space and funding, and should contact faculty members directly. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
